The Chubb brand has a long and distinguished history for innovation, security and quality dating back to the origins of the business in 1818. We are proud to continue to drive these core values in the 21st century. CLCS continues to deliver advances in technology and innovation coupled with an ever increasing product range to provided our customers with the complete solution for their custodial needs.
Prison, Immigration, Young Offender Institutes, Correctional Facilities and Detention Centre Solutions
As a major supplier of custodial products to prison authorities both nationally and globally, CLCS have continued to adapt to the ever changing demands of custodial environments. A lock and door to keep people in is more uniquely challenged than a lock and door designed to keep people out. The highest consideration is the constant and unrelenting stress that the door set must resist in order to perform.
In our strategic planning we are not only looking at new methods of deployment and operation, but also the ingenuity of those on the other side of the door.
It is the ability to always stay ahead of the next aggressive idea that enables our door sets to deliver the ultimate in custodial performance. As well as the more traditional cell locks and pass locks, CLCS have also developed and implemented the definitive ATLAS® (Advanced Technology Lock Access System) technology within many prisons, in response to demands for a more integrated, computer mounted locking system.
Police Custody Solutions
Typically, Police custody suites are much smaller than prisons and yet the demands placed on the products are the same, if not more so. Detainees can be detained whilst under the influence of alcohol or illicit substances or under stress. This may result in aggressive behaviour directed towards the cells doors, locks and furniture. There is, therefore, a need for robust cell doors, locks and furniture capable of withstanding the most violent of attacks yet remain safe and not present hazards to the detainee.
Safety of the detainee and officers is of paramount importance. Our Police custodial doors, locks, fixtures fittings and equipment are designed, manufactured and installed to meet the exacting standards set down by the Home Office to mitigate the risk of detainees harming themselves whilst in custody. Doors and locks are designed to ensure the custody officers can operate them in a safe and secure manner.
CLCS provides a wide range of doors, locks and furniture for Magistrates, Crown and Combined Courts together with courts overseas. Products follow the same design philosophy as other custodial establishments but designed specifically to meet the individual requirements of the court services. Door sets can be supplied with or without locks depending on the type of court.
